All my spoons have been lovingly carved by hand from locally sourced trees here in Cornwall, UK, mostly from my own garden. I carefully plan and select the correct piece of the tree before I start a new project so as not to waste any timber I can't use. Generally this is from maintenance of the tree.
After selecting a piece which is just right for my needs I cut the branch on an angle which will allow water to run off and help new growth. Then I can make a start by splitting the timber along the grain and levelling out the surface so I can mark out my design. The design is roughed out using a carpenters axe before I can start to carve a more definite shape using a knife and gouge.
The timber then has to be allowed to dry for one/two weeks before I can sand it to a smooth finish and finally apply a liberal coating of walnut oil and brand it with my little heart logo.
"We received our Little Wooden Spoon this morning. The last time I was this excited about a spoon was when one was on its way to Button Moon in a baked bean tin!
Not only is it beautiful to look at and a pleasure to hold, (who'd have thought a spoon could be nice to hold?), you can tell that it has been made with love and dedication and that can only mean that anything made with it will taste gorgeous!!!
Can't wait to add to my new collection of Little Wooden Spoons!"

"The curved style, length and width of the handle makes it ideal for those who have difficulties with usual sized utensils."

"I found my little wooden spoon a joy to use, tactile, comforting and 100 percent natural in material and crafting. Nothings better for eking out the last dregs of chutney clinging to the bottom of the jar, hoping they would be overlooked. With a little wooden spoon there will always be that last swipe of some clutters for the post pipe cracker"

If you love my spoons as much as I like making them, please get on touch. I can't keep them all and others do find them useful.
I hope to maybe get to some shows or find a shop/gallery who can offer some space but in the mean time please connect with me via Instagram or Facebook.
